Tour du Cameroun - day3: Amanuel Mengis again top ten!

Monday, Mar 14, 2016 in Pro Cycling

Amanuel Mengis takes 9th place on stage 3 of tour du cameroun. It was his third Top-ten placing in a row that still keeps him in good position for the GC.

Today’s race was again very hectic and nervous. Lot of attacks and the heat made it again very difficult for our riders as well as the non-controlled racing in Africa that is so different from the way the races going in Europe. That means that the guys have to get used to it again as there is no real structure in the race. It is more like ongoing attacks as long as there is nobody left or the finish line has arrived, what makes it not really easy with just 5 guys, as it is also about saving energy for 8 long stages.

Today it was Clovis Kamzong from Cameroun who attacked the best in the end as he arrived solo after 177 km with couple of seconds in front of the peloton. Amanuel Mengis could finish 9th place and keep a good position for the GC, especially when the race will arrive in the mountains. We keep all our fingers crossed!
